THEOLOGY AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
The vision of the programme is the increased capacity of church leadership in Africa to reflect on and be engaged in social transformation for the benefit of the poor and marginalised.
1. Overview
The Theology and Development Programme in the School of Religion and Theology at UKZN offers an exciting Postgraduate programme that draws students from throughout the African continent and beyond to reflect on issues of social transformation from a Christian theological perspective.
The programme introduces students to a range of development issues including poverty, HIV and AIDS, gender justice, environmental degradation, food security, land, and human rights. In doing so, it challenges students to adopt a prophetic theological position on social issues.
Three post-graduate degrees are offered through the programme: BTh (Honours), MTh and PhD.
